What causes a cell phone to have a dropped call?

Question by Yafooey!: What causes a cell phone to have a dropped call?
There can be nothing more disturbing than losing the connection when talking on the cell phone. Cingular runs ads on television about having the fewest dropped calls. But, what causes them and can they be fixed?

No... if your in an area where you have few bars you will drop the call... some phones drop calls when they get low batteries or during storms...

  2. The science of dropped calls. Your call doesn't go straight through from the person's phone to your cell phone, it actually goes from tower to tower to tower until it reches your phone.

A dropped call will happen during the time one of those towers recieve that signal. If the signal isn't strong, then it might drop.

I don't think they can be fixed because if you have a dropped call it's just because the signal connection was dropped. It depends where you are at too. If you were way out in a rural country area usally the signals are not great. So the percentage of dropped calls are greater. I hope I answered your question.
