How do I completely clear all information from a cell phone?

Question by Cosette: How do I completely clear all information from a cell phone?
Recently I saw a url in the newspaper where one could check on how to completely erase all personal information from a cell phone before donating it to charity. I lost that article and need to clean two cell phones I no longer need.

  3. Go into menu, then settings, then master reset and select, you will need a master reset code, Nokia 12345, Motorola 000000, other brands reset codes can be gotten from the manufactures website. This will reset the phone to factory settings and erase all phone book info stored on phone. If you have a GSM phone, be sure to remove the sim card and destory it. A copy of all info is stored on it. Hope this helps.
