people are too dependant on technology. and they forget about how to really interact with others. technology is convenient, but people shouldn't use it as much.

  1. a huge impact. A good age for young people to use cell phones is 13, for they know how to use it and won't be careless with it.

  2. They both save and kill.
Hundreds of people have gotten help when needed due to their cell phones, etc. Things also get done faster and all that. All in all, they're very convenient.
However, some people misuse them (ie, texting/talking while driving or operating machinery) and that's led to a lot of injuries and deaths. Once that get's under control though, I think cell phones are all in all a really great thing!

  3. I think that an ideal age is somewhere between 13-16 (i got mine when i was 13 as a 'you're a teen and you're ready to take on more responsibilities' present.) cell phones can be useful, like for business people trying to pass on info quickly, or for people trying to get a homework question or something. however, the cell phone becomes a waste of time when you use it to have one word conversations with someone, or to gossip and start drama. i mean, yeah, using a cell phone is fun, but when it takes up your entire life, then its a problem.

  4. Well, most people only use them for texting now, so just like a computer, it's cause folks to forget or never properly learn how to interact with other people,

I think that kids should get cell-phones when they pay for it all themselves. They should be able to do that in high school, after a summer job or so and it teaches them responiblity.
To be honest, most kids I know don't need them. Ever. The school provides phones in each classroom and the office has one you can use to call your parents.
If you want to talk to friends, I think it'd be best to hang out with them and establish bonds. If they're really far away, then you can use a landline.

I think the cell phone has had a huge impact on the way we live our lives. We have suddenly become available anywhere and communication via call, messages and picture is faster.

Children should have a supervised phone and limitations of use.

  6. From what I see younger people aren't learning how to verbally communicate with others. Texting is their primary way of talking to eachother. Even when they are out to eat with family or friends they are texting people. Plus how good can it be to do all this abbreviating. I'ts a hard habit to break. Don't get me wrong I like to text and it comes in handy. Shoot, I have to text if I want to talk to my kids sometimes. I don't think kids should have a cell phone until they are around 15 or 16. When they drive they should have a cell phone for safety.

  7. I believe cell phones have ruled today's society. There are advantages as well as the many disadvantages. Nowadays no one goes anywhere without one. Texting is a good asset when trying to i.m. someone quickly, but when texting is all that you do and when it takes away from you getting an education in class, it becomes too much of an addiction. I think that cell phones should be distributed when a child enters middle school but only as a basic tool where if they are in trouble they could call they're guardian. More comnplex phones could be given to them when they hit high school. I don't hate cell phones, I just believe that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

  8. it depends on what aspect you look at as far as business goes it makes most businesses more efficient than ever and couldn't function without them in a personal way its makes its me accessible at all times which is good in case of emergency and at others i want to just throw it out of the window and i will admit i am a text junkie and as far as age it all varies my daughter has one and shes ten and has had it since she was eight but being divorced its nice to be able to talk to my daughter without always having to go through the ex its also teaching her a little bit of responsibility by having to keep track of her own phone...so overall id say the plus side far out weighs the downside

  9. I think cell phones are very beneficial to society, they have been used to help people. But some young people have become too dependent upon cell phones, and not in a good way. To most young people the cell phone is sort of like a toy to play with. The overload of text messaging has gotten way out of hand, and major cell phone companies are taking advantage of this fact and making billions of dollars off of mostly young people who text thousands of messages instead of talking.
