I want a new T-Mobile cell phone and usually buying it online gives you discount than going to the store, but when I want to buy a cell online, i always have to choose a plan? I just want the cell phone and I already have a SIM card, family plan, and unlimited texting.
Do I have to choose a plan to get the cell?

You shouldn't have to. My girlfriend just bought an HTC Fuze with AT&T without a new plan. You would probably be better off calling/e-mailing T-Mobile and getting this resolved though.
ReplyDeletenahh just find a your phone on ebay or something. all you have to do is switch your sim card out and you won't have to buy a new plan or anything.
ReplyDeleteplus if you find it on ebay, it will probably be a lot cheaper.
First of all, you can see if you qualify for upgrade. Just go into a T-Mobile store and ask them to check your account. You will need the account holder's last 4 digits of the social security number. If you quality for an upgrade, then you should be able to keep the same plan and get a new phone at a discount. If you do not qualify for upgrade, then the cost of the phone is going to be very high if you buy it at a store. The reason for this is because cell phone companies discount the phone when you sign or renew a contract. If you're not doing any of those things, then they have no incentive to give you a discount on the phone. Here in California, craigslist is a popular place to get used cell phones. If craigslist is not available where you're at, eBay is also a good option. Just make sure you check the seller's feedback and carefully read the item description and return policy.
ReplyDeleteYes you can buy one without the plan, example:
