How do I change my cell phone to my old cell phone?

Question by Mathy: How do I change my cell phone to my old cell phone?
I had my cell phone go through the wash. I have an older cell phone that still works but isn't connected. I was wondering if I could change my plan back over to my old phone. If so, can i do it online at the verizon wireless place?

Also, can I move the contacts over even though my phone is completely dead.

I don't think you can move your contacts over. It was in the memory of the cell phone that was washed.
And you can't activate your old cell phone by yourself if you have Verizon Wireless. You have to call them and ask them to activate your old phone for you. This is because they're cdma, not gsm with sim cards. (with sim cards, you can just pop it into a different gsm phone and you're good to go but cdma is different.)

  1. Hi, you can use that old cell phone. If you have Verizon Wireless all you have to do is go to their website and creat a "My Verizon" account, once you do that and you are on the home page inside your "My Verizon" go the "activate cell phone" it will be on the fare left in blue letters. Once you click on that you should be able to follow the steps from there. And this is absolutely free. I had to do this a few times. And you don't have to call them for this!
