What cell phone recommendations do you have?

i'm looking for a new cell phone. i'm with verizon but i want something a bit nicer than your typical phone, but nothing quite as crazy as a pda or something.

avoid tempting options you don't really need or won't use much

Think about it ! do you want a reliable durable cell phone to send and receive calls, or do you want a pocket TV, and crappy camera ? I had the newest cell phone, but it was so delicate and became unusable from falling 2 feet onto a household floor. Then I went back to using something that was nothing but a cell-phone, with LCD screen ("black & white") and that cell phone works great and never breaks, reception and sound is better too.
